Living With Nature
A real hardwood floor brings the beauty of nature into any room. Each plank begins with a natural history you see and feel, in endless variation of color and grain. Composed together, a wood floor creates a classic, unique design, producing a home exceptionally yours.
Selecting The Finest Hardwoods
Our flooring’s top surface is produced from trees grown in northern climates. With four distinct seasons, a hard, dense wood is produced with a fine grain pattern ideal for hardwood flooring. We also use lumber from exotic woods prized for their subtle color variations, resilience and toughness.

Making The Cut
NordStar’s top surface is sliced from logs similar to the way solid wood flooring is sawn. Other manufacturers use a less expensive rotary peeling cut which produces a plywood look. By using a slicing technique, NordStar produces beautiful floors as nature intends.
NordStar's sliced cutting (above) produces a traditional, natural grain pattern. Other's use a less expensive rotary process that produces the grain pattern you see in plywood.

A Look Under The Surface
Engineered flooring is an innovation that combines the best of nature with the latest technology to create wood floors that surpass solid wood flooring. A single layer solid wood floor expands, swells and contracts in one direction. Our floors are constructed of many layers of hardwood. By crossing the grain direction on alternate layers, the expansion, swelling and warping are reduced to a minimum. Each layer is permanently bonded to its neighbor to create a strong, dimensionally stable plank. These composite planks are then precision milled to create a tight, clean fit. The end product is stronger than solid wood and can be installed anywhere in the house — even on surfaces where solid wood cannot — such as concrete subfloors or over radiant heat.

Resandable
NordStar offer you refinishing options. Walton Plank can be resanded twice, Clark once and Cooke is screenable. While the factory surface is designed to withstand years of use, you may at some point want to refinish. With Nordstar you can.

Finally, A 3⁄4" Thick Engineered Floor
Take a look at the comparison chart. The Walton Plank Collection flooring is a full 3⁄4" thick, twice that of most engineered floors on the market today. When installed, the result is a floor exceptional in strength, stability and longevity.

6 Layers Of Stain-Resistant Polycarbide Finish
NordStar’s polymer surface is the result of years of research developing the ultimate hardwood floor finish. The UV-cured surface won’t yellow over time and is highly stain-resis-tant. The scratch-resistant surface is flexible enough to resist cracking and checking and is warranted to last for years and years. For warranty details, see the comparison chart on page 17.

Install In Any Room In The House
NordStar hardwood floors can be installed in any room in the house, above or below grade. They can be floated, glued, or nailed-down over a wide variety of subfloors — including concrete slab and existing floors. Most species can be installed over radiant heat as well.

Breath Easy: An
Environmentally-Friendly Choice We harvest all our hardwoods from managed growth forests. This wood is a renewable resource and can be recycled. The floors are easy to keep clean and will not collect dust and pollens, as carpets do. All NordStar planks are pre-finished in the factory. You can use the floors as soon as they are installed with no chemical emissions produced from in-home coating.

Easy Care
There’s no waxing, scrubbing or polishing with NordStar real wood floors. Simply sweep, vacuum, or use a spray-on hardwood flooring cleaner made for polyurethane-finished wood floors.
