Choosing wood: Maple, Brazilian Cherry or Oak?

While each plank is unique, in general, different wood species do have different grain and texture characteristics.

Look for tighter grain in Maple Walnut and Oak have wider, more dramatic patterns contrasting between light and dark areas.

The changes in real wood that come with time

The patina of real wood flooring matures over time in keeping with the character of each species. This aging process is one of the hallmarks of a real wood floor. Cherry, for example, with its subtle grain pattern and natural color variations, will darken to a rich patina as it ages.
